Once you have completed our online course, the next step is to visit the CAMP Web Portal, create an account, and submit your permit background application. This application is crucial as it allows the agency to conduct a background check and verify that you meet the necessary requirements. Additionally, you will need to pass a final exam as part of the process.
Once your application is approved and you pass the exam, you will receive a digital copy of your OLCC Alcohol Service Permit. A download link will also be sent to you by email from the CAMP website. An Oregon OLCC service permit is a five-year, state-issued license that allows you to mix, serve, or sell alcohol (or supervise those who do) at any business licensed for on-premises liquor sales in Oregon. The online course cost $16.99 and the permit application costs $23 and must be available for inspection in paper or digital format while you work.
Anyone who mixes, serves, sells alcohol, or supervises alcohol servers, including bartenders, servers, managers, and clerks who fill growlers, must possess a valid service permit. Staff members such as bus drivers, cooks, or hosts who do not handle alcohol do not need one.
You must be 18 or older to apply. Ages 18–20 receive a “minor” permit, which limits them to serving or delivering drinks in areas where food service is the primary focus; they may not bartend or mix drinks until they turn 21.

3. Submit the online service permit application and $23 fee.
4. Pass the OLCC final exam in CAMP website.
5. Download your temporary permit while OLCC finalizes the review process.
Only after your temporary permit is issued in CAMP. Since March 31 2025, Oregon no longer allows a 45-day grace period; the service permit application and server education training and the OLCC final exam must be completed and passed before you can serve alcohol. The OLCC will is you a digital temporary permit while they process your official permit.
