While optional for off-premise beer retailers, becoming a Responsible Beer Vendor provides benefits like reduced penalties for certain violations. Certified clerks must complete TABC-approved training within 61 days of hire, focusing on preventing sales to minors and intoxicated individuals. Like the wine vendor certification, it is valid for one year and requires annual renewal.
